FAST TRACK ONE YEAR PROFESSIONAL FILMMAKERS CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

A one-year comprehensive program for Redemptive Film Students who desire to make Redemptive Filmmaking a career goal.

The program allows students to move at their own pace in the classroom and experience hands-on film production over a vacation week or as a weekend warrior.

Students go through 3 three-month semesters online and after each 3-month session, they visit the TFI studios for a weekend or weeklong film production practicum. The post-semester visit to TFI studios gives students a chance to work on several short film projects with other students each time they come to campus. Then their final project is a film written, produced and directed by students for entry in the major film festivals.

TFI is a one of a kind learning opportunity designed to bring IMAGE MAKERS who have a calling in the visual arts together. The camaraderie, sense of community and purpose; which results from the collaborative work on film and television is a highly rewarding way to create visual art. TFI exists to pass on both the insight and the technique necessary to make a quality film or television show from start to finish.

The TFI team believes the conservatory model provides the optimum setting for craft masters to come alongside promising novices and guide them in the skills, the artistic reasoning, and the creative justification, to communicate through a digital art form.

Independent Filmmakers 5-day Retreat - SPARK WEEK

Screenwriting Class - Acting Class - Directors Class - Cinematographers Class and more.....

Spark Week is designed to spark your desire to be a Redemptive Filmmaker, one who uses film as their pulpit. Students will take classes and perform the duties of the various film positions from acting in a short film to directing a short film. These short films are written by the students at Spark Week under the watchful eye of our TFI staff.  The TFI classroom prepares you for the hands-on experience you will have and the comradery you will enjoy is unmatched.

Students live together, eat together and work together while learning how to make movies. We have found no other program that offers a student this type of learning experience for Christians. Students of all ages are welcome but the program is taught by University professors on a University level.

SPARK WEEK IS THE INTRODUCTION TO THE ONE YEAR PROFESSIONAL FILMMAKERS CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

YOU WILL LEARN:

Screenwriting;  Students will learn story development along with different screenwriting techniques writers can employ. Topics will include character development from beginning to end, how to write dialogue that develops the characters and advances the story plot, and the three-act structure.

Acting Class;   Our acting program was developed for both beginners and working actors who wish to strengthen their skills and learn new techniques. As a principal actor for film, and television you’ll bring characters to life using technique, emotion, and presence. Our courses offer experience in front of the camera, so students are able to review their performances and make adjustments.

Led by mentors who work as actors, each course is designed to increase students' comfort with new roles, cold readings, audition situations, and developing depth in their work. TFI students are instructed on how to deliver dynamic and truthful performances with memorizing script techniques and clear enunciation.

Directors & Cinematographers;  TFI students will learn camera choice,  composition, how to choose lenses, depth of field, camera angles, and how to create a specific mood or emotion with camera & lighting. Students will experience hands-on training with all the instruments used in lighting and grip while learning how to tell stories with light and camera angles. Independent Filmmakers Weekend - Light Club Weekend

Light Club Weekend is a truncated version of Spark Week and it takes place at your local school or church over one weekend. The Light Club Weekend program is designed to spark interest in movie making and hopefully plant a film club at your school or church.

Film clubs compete at the TFI film festival and other Christian festivals around the country. The ultimate goal is to get more Redemptive films out to the world over the internet, TV and theatrical platforms. FOR MORE INFORMATION ON LIGHT CLUB.
